Leyton Orient U18 3 - 2 Millwall U18
Football League Youth Alliance South East Conference
ORIENT'S youth team bounced back from their FA Youth Cup exit by defeating Millwall 3-2 at Newbury Park.
Musa Manneh, Jake Argent and Louis Crowther were all on target and youth team boss Andy Edwards (pictured) was pleased with the result.
He said: "The conditions weren't ideal and made playing football difficult, but we stuck at it and it was nice to get back to winning ways.
"I think there was a little hangover from the FA Youth Cup game and we looked a little tired - and that was reflected in our performance, which was a little disjointed.
"But there were a couple of good individual performances in there and we were happy to win the game."
Orient took the lead in the first half when winger Manneh cut inside from the left flank and let fly with a super shot from 25 yards that arrowed into the top corner.
Top scorer Argent made it two before the break when he latched on to Joseph Boakye's through ball to lift the ball over the advancing Lions stopper.
Millwall got themselves back into the game after the restart when they halved the deficit, but Orient re-established their cushion when Manneh's excellent run down the left ended with a cross that Crowther met with a thumping header.
The visitors pulled one back to make it 3-2, but they never looked like levelling and Orient went on to record another victory.
