Brighton & HA U18 1 - 1 Leyton Orient U18
Football League Youth Alliance South East Conference
ORIENT'S youngsters ended their 2009/10 campaign with a creditable point at high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion.
The O's recovered from a goal down to draw against the second placed Seagulls, with schoolboy Billy Lobjoit scoring the visitors' goal.
Youth team manager Andy Edwards said: "We've finished as we started, with a draw, and this was a decent result against a very good Brighton side.
"Brighton started better, but we got better as the game went on and were the more likely winners in the end.
"It was a good performance and a fitting way to end the season."
Brighton were first out of the traps and after dominating the early exchanges, moved into a 25th minute lead through George Hayward.
Orient got stronger towards the end of the opening period and went close through 18-goal top scorer Jake Argent.
Orient changed their formation in the second half to get to grips with Brighton's domination of the midfield and it had the desired impact as the visitors moved into the ascendancy.
They were rewarded 15 minutes from time when Elliott Babbs slid a ball through for Lobjoit, who finished in fine style.
