Lively Portugese winger Sandro Semedo was handed a two-year professional deal in July 2015 having impressed in the O’s academy.

Born in Portugal, Semedo first linked up with the Orient academy following a spell with the Leyton Orient Trust, and went on to make 13 appearances for the youth team during the 2014-15 campaign scoring four goals in the process after recovering from a broken leg sustained early in the season.

Having signed his first professional contract, Semedo made his first-team debut as a substitute in the 2-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat at Luton Town in September 2015, before going on loan to Welling United.

Semedo then ended the 2015-16 campaign strongly by playing in the O’s final three League Two fixtures in which he made his first start in the O’s final home game of the season as they defeated Mansfield Town 1-0.
