ORIENT headed to Leicestershire on Monday morning for a four-day training camp as the east Londoners hone their preparations for the new campaign.
After competing in two friendly matches in the past week, Russell Slade’s squad will now spend time living in each other’s pockets as well as getting valuable work done on the training pitch.
They are using the same Champneys Springs facilities as employed by the Team GB football squad before their pre-Olympics training camp in Spain and manager Slade is looking forward to the week.
“It’s going to be an important week for us,” he said. “I’m really pleased that I’ve virtually got my squad together for the trip because they’ll be spending time together.
“It’s that sort of camaraderie that you’re trying to generate and that spirit. It comes from situations like that by being together, and that’s what we’re going to be for three or four days.”
