ORIENT captain Nathan Clarke is backing his side to bounce back when they take on Stevenage on Tuesday night.
The O’s suffered a disappointing start to their League campaign when they were defeated 3-1 at Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.
But they are faced with another game quickly and Clarke believes that is just what his team needs.
“The beauty of football is that there is a chance to bounce back quickly,” he said.
“We had a long trip back on Saturday night but we’ve recovered well and we’re looking forward to the game against Stevenage.
“We want to put things right and make sure we get off to a good start this season – we don’t want to be scrapping about at the bottom, we want to be pushing and we’ve definitely got the squad to do that.
“Coming off the back of a good result against Charlton we wanted to carry that momentum on.
“That didn’t happen on Saturday but we can try to recapture that on Tuesday.”
Clarke will have to play alongside a new centre half partner on Tuesday as Scott Cuthbert will miss out with a hamstring injury. Ben Chorley is likely to come into the O’s defence.
