RUSSELL SLADE thought Sheffield United deserved their 1-0 victory over the O’s on Saturday.
Nick Blackman struck the only goal of the game just before the hour to take the points back to Yorkshire and Slade didn’t think his team did enough to merit anything for themselves.
He said: “I thought we worked really hard but were up against a very, very good side today – probably the best we’ve played this season.
“it was settled by a good finish. In the end analysis they probably deserved to win, but we had the best chance of the game. If that had gone in, then who knows?
“For that chance it was a great ball, one we’d been waiting for all game, and you have to give credit to the keeper who came on because it was a good save [from Kevin Lisbie].
“Cookie was close from a free kick too, it was a game of few chances, and they are a good side who make things difficult for you. It’s not easy to score against them.”
To add to Slade’s frustration, Kevin Lisbie limped off injured towards the end and the boss expects his striker to be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.
He added: “Other than missing out on the three points, Kevin picking up an injury was the worst news.
“It’s a hamstring for sure, but we don’t know how bad it is. We’ll assess it but it looks like he’ll be out for a few weeks”
