RYAN BRUNT had praise for O’s winger Moses Odubajo after he provided the assist for the on-loan Stoke striker’s winner against Hartlepool on Saturday.
19-year-old Odubajo was starting a League game for only the third time, but he put in a performance of real purpose to drive Orient towards the points.
His 47th minute cross was nodded home by Brunt for his third goal of the season and Brunt was grateful for its quality.
“Mo was class tonight,” said Brunt. “That was the best I’ve seen him play. His pace is phenomenal, so if he gets that half-a-yard to cross, hopefully I’ll be in there to score.
“His ball for the goal was the kind you love as a striker – if I’d missed I’d have been shot!”
Brunt, just 19 himself, is now the O’s top goalscorer with three this season, but the team’s victory gave him the most pleasure.
“It was a good night for the team and it’s good to push on after a disappointing result on Saturday,” he continued.
“We gelled today and showed a lot of team spirit to keep in the game and create a few chances. We should have scored a few more, but it was nice to get on the scoresheet.
“The shape was right, we worked on that in training and it paid off.
“We’re back up to 12th in the table and the result will give us confidence for Oldham on Saturday.”
