A WHOLE host of O’s legends will be returning to Brisbane Road this Saturday for a reunion of the 1969/70 Division Three title-winning team.
Several members of that history-making O’s side will be in attendance for the visit of Coventry City and will be presented to the crowd at half time.
It was a truly memorable season the club, as they returned to the second tier of English football by winning the title ahead of Luton Town and pipping Bristol Rovers and Fulham to the promotion slots.
Orient’s elevation gave them an unbroken run of 12 years in Division Two from what was only the third ever promotion for the club at the time.
On Saturday, Terry Mancini, Peter Allen, Tommy Taylor, Mick Jones, Dickie Plume, Mark Lazarus, Peter Brabrook and Steve Bowtell, plus the club’s commercial manager at the time, Brian Blower, will be in attendance.
There will also be a presentation post-match in the Supporters’ Club.
