RUSSELL SLADE felt his side got what they deserved at a freezing Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
The O’s failed to trouble their high-flying hosts as goals either side of the break from Rob Jones and Chris Brown gave Rovers the points.
Slade was disappointed with the goals conceded but gave credit to the effective performance from Doncaster.
He said: “First and foremost, they’ve worked tirelessly to get the game on and credit to the groundsman for that.
“We needed to try to get some fresh legs in there, so that’s why we made the changes. Quite a few of my players did 120 minutes on Tuesday. We were 1-0 down at half time to a set play where we’ve not marked.
“That was disappointing and the second one we’ve tried to play an offside trap which certainly didn’t come off.
“Yes, they’re a good side and yes, they’ve had opportunities, but the goals we’ve conceded were slightly disappointing for me to say the least.
“We didn’t have many opportunities ourselves. They’re a very solid side, a big unit at the back and they don’t concede many.
“I think that’s what we need to learn from today. This is what it takes to perhaps get out of this league.”
