ORIENT goalkeeper Lee Butcher paid the pupils of George Mitchell School in Leyton a visit recently to launch an official partnership between the club and the local school.
Lee chatted with the pupils and posed for pictures before handing out official O’s kits for the youngsters to wear when representing the school side as well as a host of free tickets for a recent home game.
Howard Gould, Development Coach & Community Liaison Officer for the Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP) shook hands with Tom Collier, head of P.E. at George Mitchell, and said: “We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with George Mitchell School.”
Acting Head Teacher, Claire Kirwin added: “We are very proud to be partners with Leyton Orient Football Club, and feel it will be an inspiration to our students, as our Ofsted report said, across the whole school, pupils benefit considerably from interesting visits out, and many participate in a wide range of out-of-school hours activities.”
