ORIENT striker Kevin Lisbie has today (Monday) signed an extended contract with the club until June 2014.
Lisbie’s current deal was due to expire in June but after talks with the club the 34-year-old has agreed to sign an extension much to the delight of manager Russell Slade.
“Kevin is a huge player for us and to get his commitment moving forwards is massive. He’s a class act and an excellent pro who offers us valuable experience and quality both on and off the pitch. He’s excellent with the younger players and they can learn a lot from him. He attracted some interest in the transfer window so for him to see his future with us gives an indication of what we are building here and it’s great for the club.” said Slade.
Lisbie joined The O’s in August 2011 and made a great impact as he finished the season as the leading goal-scorer with 12 goals and also picked up the Star Man award at the Supporters Club awards dinner at the end of last season.
He has played 69 times for the club and scored 21 goals, whilst this season he has been in great form making 23 appearances and scoring nine times.
