Hosts International is a provider of high-quality homestay accommodation in London. Homestay accommodation with a host family is a competitively priced alternative to flats or student residences. The basic requirement is for a host family to offer a nicely presented spare room (single or twin bed) with a good-sized wardrobe, desk, lamp and chair with access to a shared or private bathroom. There is an initial inspection process in line with British Council regulations and families must be willing to undergo DBS child protection checks. It is a major advantage for a home to be close to an underground station or bus route. Once this process is completed, we then place compatible students with the family at an agreed weekly rate depending on the meal plan being provided.
Host families are encouraged to treat their visitor(s) as a member of the family, to provide a continental breakfast and share an evening meal with them, thus allowing the student to practise their English. Laundry facilities should also be available once a week and a key to the door made available for Over 18s. Host families are paid on a weekly basis regardless of the length of stay of a student which can vary from one week to one year.
