The LOCSP is in the running for the Best Football Community Scheme category at the Football Business Awards 2013 on November 7.
Established by Waltham Forest, Sport England and Leyton Orient FC in 1989, Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme have been pioneers in the community, being the first Club scheme to work on housing estates and engage in the regeneration agenda in 1995, the first club scheme to develop community focused facilities (SCORE opened in 2005)and the first  Club Scheme to become a registered charity in 1997 – (followed since by all Football League Clubs and 18 Premier League Clubs who collectively invest over £70 million in their communities per year)
In 2012 the Programme welcomed the US Olympic Team to train at their SCORE venue in Leyton and have been heavily involved in Olympic legacy themed community outreach and engagement programmes working closely with LOCOG, the LDA, Newham Council and the LLDC from 2005 onwards.
Now in their 25th year the Programme continues to engage and support its communities in Hackney, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest by offering sports, training and education projects, meaningfully enabling them to fulfil their potential.
