Peterborough will be hoping for all three points tomorrow as they look to get straight back into the Championship following their relegation last year. Posh have been in good form so far this season, but their surprise defeat to Colchester United last weekend saw them drop to third and end a seven game unbeaten run. However, Peterborough could find themselves at the top of League One if they manage to beat the O’s by four goals, and Wolves lose to Stevenage.
Posh have only lost one game at home this season, losing to Crawley 2-0. After that defeat, they went onto to score 11 goals in their next two games. Beating Reading 6-0 in the second round of the League Cup and Tranmere 5-0 in the league.
They have scored 24 goals this season, with striker Britt Assombalonga their top goalscorer on seven. However Posh have been struggling for goals recently, scoring only two in their last four matches and failing to score in their previous two. The same can be said for Assombalonga, who hasn’t found the net in his last eight matches.
Lee Tomlin will miss the game tomorrow despite his return from injury last weekend, following his sending off against Colchester. Midfielder Daniel Kearns will also miss out due to injury.
Posh could see the return of full back Mark Little, after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained last weekend.
Mat Baudry is unlikely to feature as he recovers from a shoulder injury.
Football League sponsors Sky Bet make Peterborough favourites at evens with Orient 11/4 and the draw at 12/5. Will Britt Assombalonga finally find the net after eight games, Sky Bet have him at 9/2 for first goalscorer. Or will ‘Super’ Kev continue his great goalscoring form and guide Orient to victory tomorrow? Sky Bet have Lisbie to score first and the O’s to win at 100/30.
