Three hundred and sixty unsigned footballers have been taking part in the first round of trials for Samsung’s Win A Pro Contract competition in a bid for one of THREE professional contracts on offer, as Wycombe Wanderers join Samsung’s existing partnerships with Swindon Town and Leyton Orient.
The trials, taking place at six different Goals Soccer Centres up and down the country, have been putting the hopefuls through their paces in a series of skills tests and mini matches.
This Sunday’s [Nov 24] trial at Eltham, east London, is the final tryout before the scouts make their selection for the next round.
Once the first round trials have been completed, the scouts will then choose 88 lucky hopefuls to progress to the semi-finals stage and take part in 11-a-side matches at either Wycombe’s Adams Park ground or Orient’s Matchroom Stadium on two dates in December.
Following the semi-finals, the hopefuls will again be whittled down, with the remaining trialists taking part in a final match at Swindon’s County Ground in January.
Then, a ¬select group of players from this final will be invited by the three clubs to spend a week training with the manager and first team.
