NEW SIGNING Chris Dagnall has revealed how he can’t wait to launch his Orient career after signing for the O’s following his release from Barnsley.
“I’m over the moon,” said Dagnall. “After sorting my contract with Barnsley, it’s great to get a club doing so well in the league and I can get myself settled now.”
After leaving Oakwell last week, the former Rochdale forward said that meeting the manager Russell Slade was a key factor in his decision to join the club.
“I met the manager and he’s a top fella and really sold it to me. You only have to look at the table to see how well the club is doing and we have every chance of promotion which made it an easy decision. It’s a nice training ground, the lads all seem really good and I’ve enjoyed my first day.”
Having been out of favour at Barnsley for much of this season, Dagnall is now determined to get his head down and score some goals.
“First and foremost I like to work hard and give 100 per cent every game. I mix my game up, so can run in behind or drop off short too but above everything I make sure I work hard every game.
“I want to play as many games as I can and score a few goals and help the club get promoted. I’m really looking forward to my debut. I’ve not really played a huge amount of football this season so can’t wait to get back in to the swing of things.”
