The race, which is being run at half time in the T20 Blast match between Surrey and Middlesex this Friday, will pit Theo against the likes of Stamford the Lion, Hammerhead, Pete the Eagle, Billy the Badger and even Haydon the Womble – as well as runners from cricket, rugby and even The City – with Octopus Investments and NatWest also due to field entrants. There are currently nineteen declared runners for the race!
Always a competitive affair, last year saw an eight foot FA Cup taken out by a rampant Sarrie the Camel and end up at the bottom of a large pile of aggressive furry critters. When rivalries are renewed next week, blood, fur and comedy feet could spill onto the Kia Oval’s historic outfield!
