O's To Spend More Time On The Road In 2014-15

Orient supporters will be without a London derby to look forward to in League One next season in what will be a year in which the division has been dominated by northern sides.
Brentford’s promotion to the Championship last season means that the O’s will be the only side representing the capital in League One in 2014-15 for the first time in 10 years.
Although Russell Slade’s side will no longer need to endure clock-consuming journeys to the likes of Carlisle, Tranmere and Shrewsbury next year, all seven new sides joining the division in 2014-2015 are located over 150 miles* from the Matchroom Stadium.
A 516 mile* round journey to Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium will represent Orient’s longest trip of the season, whilst lengthy trips to the likes of Rochdale, Preston and Oldham will all also ensure that the O’s travelling contingent are regularly topping up their tanks.
Indeed, only four teams in the division are located further south in the country than Brisbane Road, with Orient’s shortest journey of the season coming from the 70 mile* round trip to Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium.
As a result, this means that the O’s total distance of travelling for the forthcoming season will be approximately 6,886 miles*, 60 miles more than last season.
