Orient supporter Stuart Parish arranged a visit to see Phil on his big day and brought along a surprise guest – his old Orient teammate Sid Bishop!

The pair reminisced about their playing days together as both were part of the O’s side that won promotion from the Third Division in 1955-56.
McKnight is the oldest surviving Orient player and spent seven years at Brisbane Road between 1954-61 and amassed 169 appearances in that time – scoring two goals.
He was a reliable and consistent performer who joined the O’s from Chelsea where he had played with the likes of Ron Greenwood.
He would later take on a coaching role at the O’s before becoming manager of Hayes FC.
“It was great to see Phil and share memories with him,” said Parish. “He was a terrific player in his heyday and is remembered by fans of a certain generation very fondly.
“Both he and Sid enjoyed catching up and it was a lovely day.”
