ORIENT have today (Monday) signed former Millwall defender Shane Lowry on a two-year contract.
The Australian born defender made 23 appearances for the Lions last season and was almost ever-present during the 2012-13 campaign for the South London side.
The 25-year-old is left-footed and has played at left back and in the middle of defence. He came through the ranks at Aston Villa before heading out on loan to the likes of Sheffield United, Plymouth Argyle and Leeds before moving to the Den on a permanent basis in 2012 following a successful loan spell.
He becomes the fourth summer signing for the O’s and is delighted to be joining a club he believes capable of going up in the 2014-15 season.
“I’m really excited to be here,” said Lowry. “There’s a buzz about the place. You can tell straightaway that everyone here is really ambitious and I want to be a part of it and help the Club push to go up this year.”
