Leyton Orient U17’s finished their pre-season campaign in fantastic fashion with a 2-1 win against West Ham United at Littleheath.
The young O’s side produced a positive first half performance and deservedly took the lead on the 25th minute through Victor Adeboyejo, who was alert to intercept a mistake from the West Ham defence and keep his composure to slot the ball under the goalkeeper from 15 yards.
West Ham came out strong after the interval however and equalised just before the hour following good play down the right.
Orient reacted well to being pegged back and retook the lead in the 65th minute when Christian Owusu reacted quickest inside the box after Sam Ling had seen his initial effort tipped onto the post.
The O’s managed to hold on for the win to end pre-season with a 100% record, much to the delight of Academy Director Andy Edwards.
“Pre-season has gone very well in terms of both performance and results,” said Edwards.
“The attitude from all of the players has been excellent but it is imperative that they keep their focus as we approach the first game of the season.”
