Orient are unbeaten in their last four and made it through to round two of the Capital One Cup two weeks ago when they defeated Plymouth Argyle in a penalty shoot-out. They travel to Villa Park on the back of two clean sheets after 0-0 draws against Bristol City and Walsall.
Villa meanwhile will be pleased with their four point haul from their first two Premier League games following a 0-0 draw with Newcastle and 1-0 win at Stoke City. Roy Keane became Paul Lambert’s assistant in the summer and Lambert has recruited several experienced players over the summer with the likes of Philippe Senderos, Joe Cole, Kieran Richardson, Isaac Nehemie and Tom Leggett all signing.
Orient manager Russell Slade is without Kevin Lisbie (shoulder) though hinted that Shaun Batt is getting nearer a return from his calf problem which he sustained at Home Park in round one of the competition. Chris Dagnall meanwhile returned to make an appearance on Saturday having missed the opening matches of the season with an ankle knock.
Joe Cole is in line to make his full Aston Villa debut and Shay Given could make his first start of the season. Ron Vlaar (knee) and Aly Cissokho (ankle) are unlikely to be risked whilst Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak are still unavailable.
