Another healthy attendance of golfers descended on the fantastic Crondon Park Golf and Country Club on the afternoon of Wednesday 10th September.
First team players and staff joined sponsors and supporters for an enjoyable day with some lovely September sunshine adding to the event. Once the rounds were complete, players enjoyed some food in the beautiful Baronial Suite at the golf course before presentations of the prizes took place with Orient’s Honorary President, Barry Hearn announcing the winners.
The O’s Club Captain Nathan Clarke was first up to the prize winners table as he showed his talents with a golf club, picking up the Nearest the Pin trophy while well-known darts referee, Russ Bray, picked up the nearest the pin in two award.
The individual award was a close run thing with Jay Gilbert from First Class Facilities Management being edged into third place by Goalkeeper Coach, Kevin Dearden and young first team ‘Keeper, Charlie Grainger who both picked up 39 points. The winner of the Best Individual by way of count back on the back nine was the senior member of the Goalkeepers Union, Kevin Dearden.
The team event saw a tie for second and third place, with PDC narrowly edging ahead of Gambling Guru’s by way of count back on the back nine. However, clear winners on the day were First Class Facilities Management (pictured above) whose team included Orient striker David Mooney.
Commercial Manager, Tom Jeffes, commented: “It was another enjoyable day at Crondon Park and thanks go to all their staff for making us so welcome. A big thank you goes to everyone who took part, to the companies that provided prizes and to those that sponsored the event. They all contributed to making it another successful event and we hope to see them all involved, along with more supporters and commercial clients next year.”
