PREVIEW: Rochdale

access_time 7 years ago
FORM: Kevin Nugent takes charge this weekend following the departure of Russell Slade on Wednesday. Without a home win this season, Orient return to the Matchroom Stadium hoping to claim their first three points of the season in E10. The O’s remain strong on the road however and last Saturday’s win at Scunthorpe extended their unbeaten away run to eight matches.
Rochdale are currently 7th in League 1 and one point off of a play-off spot. Dale have enjoyed a strong September winning four of their five matches and only conceding one goal, which came in their 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United. They have a familiar face in their ranks as former O’s skipper Stephen Dawson will returns to E10 for the first time since leaving for Barnsley in 2012.
TEAM NEWS: Scott Cuthbert hobbled off early into the first half against Sheffield United on Tuesday night whilst Shane Lowry also missed the Capital One Cup tie. Adam Legzdins remains sidelined with a finger injury whilst Kevin Lisbie continues to recover from shoulder surgery.
Leicester City loanee Conrad Logan remains in goal for Rochdale whilst Josh Lillis continues to recover from an ankle injury. Joe Rafferty will miss this weekend’s clash after picking up his fifth booking of the season in Dale’s win against Coventry last week. Former O’s captain Stephen Dawson is expected to start on his first return to Brisbane Road since leaving for Barnsley in January 2012.
