PREVIEW: Leyton Orient v Crawley

ORIENT host Crawley Town on Boxing Day at 3pm looking to break the curse that has seen them never take a point off of the Sussex side.

The sides have met four times previously with Orient losing all four, with the last defeat coming back in April.
Both sides desperately need a win and some festive joy with Crawley sitting just three points above the O’s but having not won in their last eight League 1 games. Fabio Liverani’s side have picked up just one win in that time and the new Italian manager is still awaiting his first points since joining the club earlier this month.
The O’s boss has likened the tie to a ‘Champions League Final’ and stressed the importance of registering points against the Red Devils and Yeovil before an extensive break until their next fixture in January.
Gianvito Plasmati limped off injured at Oakwell last weekend and will be out of the game whilst Nathan Clarke, who missed the trip to Yorkshire, will be hoping to make a return. Likewise Liverani can welcome back striker Chris Dagnall from a three game suspension.
The O’s manager has also said he is unsure on whether he will have any of the others on his extensive injury list back available to play.
Crawley will check on defender Lanre Oyebanjo and winger Gwion Edwards.
Oyebanjo missed Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Port Vale due to a calf injury and Edwards sat out having undergone hernia surgery a fortnight earlier, but he could return at Brisbane Road.
Transfer-listed former skipper Josh Simpson has been ruled out until the new year due to a hamstring problem.
Striker Izale McLeod will also miss out again as he serves the final game of a three-match ban.
Remember that the Boxing Day game is a 3pm kick-off with hospitality guests asked to arrive at 12:30pm from Reception.
There will be cash turnstiles in the East and South Stands. Away supporters will be situated in the East Stand on Brisbane Road. The East Stand Ticket Office will be closed.
