LEYTON ORIENT manager Fabio Liverani was delighted as his side picked up their second win in as many games against a struggling Yeovil side.

“Tonight’s game was very important for us,” said the O’s boss. “The pitch was very tough and we had a few more injuries from the weekend plus Romain Vincelot was carrying a problem. I’m very happy for the players, they were very good tonight.”

There were some familiar names on the scoresheet as Chris Dagnall continued his fine form whilst, Kevin Lisbie scored on his return and Dean Cox scored his 50th for the club and Liverani stated the importance of the squad he has inherited.

“Players like: Dagnall, Lisbie, Cox and Mooney are all very important players for the team. When I first came in, my main concern was to recover these players so I can see the potential of the squad and I’m seeing good things from them now.
“The central defenders were excellent as well tonight. They are improving a lot tactically and if they carry on like this there will be good times ahead.”
When pressed about the January transfer window and the future of players like Cox, Liverani revealed he doesn’t want anyone to leave during the window.
“Cox is very important for us,” said the manager. “We want to retain him and we are not planning to let anyone go in January. I will meet the President tomorrow to discuss the strategy for the window.”
There is a long break now before the O’s are back in action on January 10th against Fleetwood, something which Liverani is looking forward to.
“We have two wins now which are important but they are not everything and we still have to work a lot. This break is great for us and gives us time to recover our injured players,” he said.
