Junior supporters who were present at Theo’s Christmas party had the chance to be a flag bearer and part of the guard of honour by simply leaving their details and guaranteeing attendance at the Crawley game on Boxing Day.
There were over 50 applicants for this now established and popular match-day experience and Theo himself picked out the 20 lucky winners. Unfortunately due to sickness, a couple couldn’t make it on the day but the remaining 18 had a terrific time and brought some much needed luck as the first team claimed there first win over Crawley with an excellent display and four classy goals.
Davis Watson, aged 10, said afterwards, “I really enjoyed that! To be so close to the players was very exciting and I’d love to do it again sometime”. And Ken, dad of Sophie Sutton aged 6, commented, “Sophie had a thoroughly enjoyable time waving the flag. The club work hard in the community and we’re really appreciative of opportunities like this. Sophie hasn’t stopped talking about it!”.
There will be further competitions and ‘behind the scenes’ opportunities for Theo’s Junior O’s to experience so if you haven’t yet joined, contact Liz Freeman for further details and an application form [email protected]
