BIRMINGHAM CITY defender Neal Eardley has signed for Leyton Orient on a one month loan deal.
Eardley is a full international with Wales and came through the ranks at Oldham Athletic where he made 129 appearances before moving to Blackpool. He enjoyed four years on the coast before joining Birmingham City last summer. His first season with the Blues was curtailed by a serious knee injury but he has returned this year to make six appearances so far this campaign.
Speaking upon signing, Eardley said: “I’m really pleased to be given the opportunity to come in and hopefully play some football. I’ve met the lads and they seem like a very good group and have made me feel welcome which is great and I’m very happy to be here. I want to play football and enjoy myself out there. I’m keen to get some minutes under my belt and hopefully help the lads up the table. I’ve not played a huge amount as it’s tough to get into the side at Birmingham at the minute but I’m fit and raring to go and I jumped at the chance to come here when I heard of the interest.
“I’m a hard worker. I like to get on the ball and get forward and help get balls into the box and I hope I can have a positive impact on the team during my time here.”
He will wear the squad number 35 with the O’s.
