ORIENT manager Fabio Liverani wants to see a reaction from his side against Scunthorpe after a below par showing at Colchester.
“The team have worked well in training this week to get things right and I’m expecting a stronger performance from them with more hunger and desire to get points, especially as we are back at home,” he said.
“They are a very good side who like to play good football. It will be a difficult match but for us it will be like a cup final. We will play with hunger and go out there to win the match and give all the effort we can do to get the three points that we are so desperate for.”
Darius Henderson is edging closer to a return as the injury list shortens which has come as a welcome relief to the O’s boss.
“Since I have been here we have had lots of well documented injury problems,” said Liverani. “Recently we have recovered a few forwards and now we are starting to finally see more bodies out on the training pitch. This is a great thing as it’s much nicer as a manager to have a problem with too many players than too few. There will be difficult decisions to make but this is a good thing.”
With that in mind and the transfer deadline looming on Monday, the O’s boss is expecting a quiet end to the window.
“I don’t expect much action in the window. This team is a really strong one and now we are starting to recover some of our injured players we need to work as hard as we possibly can to get as many points as we can. I believe in the players we currently have.”
