Orient boss Fabio Liverani is keen for his side to maintain their recent improvement with another three points at Walsall tomorrow.
The O’s go into the game on the back of a confidence-boosting 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic last weekend, but the Italian knows they can ill-afford to rest on their laurels in their bid to avoid relegation.
“Confidence is higher now, however we’ve done nothing yet. We are still 20 points away from the target and we must continue performing and getting points,” he said.
Liverani attended the Meet the Manager event on Monday night and was thoroughly pleased to get the opportunity to know the fans better.
“It was a very positive feeling from the Meet the Manager evening,” he added.
“I believe it enhanced the relationship with the supporters and it was a chance for the supporters to know me better as well as for me to know them better.”
Orient visit a Walsall side who sit in 14th place, and feels they are in for a stiff challenge tomorrow.
“Walsall are an organised team, tight and compact defensively but dangerous when counter attacking,” he said.
“They will want to do well at home after they lost their last game, but we don’t fear them and will do everything to win the game.”
The games come thick and fast for Orient, with the O’s hosting Bristol City on Tuesday, and with that in mind, that may play a part in Liverani’s matchday squad.
“I have a few considerations to make before choosing the starting XI tomorrow as we’ll play three games in the next eight days and we will need every player in the squad in these games.”
Jay Simpson continued his return from an ankle injury with 45 minutes in Tuesday’s 3-2 Development Team loss to Luton Town, while Shaun Batt, Gianvito Plasmati and Marvin Bartley played the whole match.
