Orient boss Fabio Liverani knows his side have to be more clinical in front of goal over the final four games of the season, starting at MK Dons tomorrow.
The O’s have created plenty of chances in the 1-1 draw at Crewe last weekend and the 1-0 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday, but have been unable to make the most of their opportunities.
And Liverani is aware that must change if the O’s are to pick up the points and remain outside the League One relegation zone.
“I would be more worried if we were not creating chances to score,” Liverani told www.leytonorient.com.
“Unfortunately it has happened more than once this season where we were not able to score and then from one of very few chances the opposition get, they have been able to find the back of the net.”
“It is disappointing for staff and players that we lost at home on Tuesday, but the players have continued to show great levels of determination and desire.
“We are not lacking in determination and desire to win games and avoid relegation. Everyone is still positive and believes we can avoid relegation.”
They come up against an in-form MK Dons side who are on a seven-game unbeaten run, and defeated Fleetwood Town 3-0 on Tuesday.
“MK Dons are a very good side and they have remained in and around the play-off positions for the majority of the season. They have good quality in the squad,” he added.
“We respect them but we do not fear them. We have often put in good performances against the top teams and hopefully we will repeat that on Saturday.
“Other results in the league show anything is possible, with Yeovil’s win over Sheffield United a fine example on Tuesday.”
