Orient may have to rely on other results going their way, but boss Fabio Liverani knows they have to do ‘their bit’ first when they head to Swindon Town tomorrow.
The O’s need to pick up a win at the County Ground and hope results elsewhere work in their favour in a bid to avoid relegation.
And boss Liverani insists anything is possible on what could be a dramatic final day.
“I still believe we have a chance to avoid relegation, firstly because I believe in my players and because I have seen that any result can happen in this league,” Liverani told www.leytonorient.com.
“It’s not going to be easy, since clearly it’s no longer in our own hands anymore, but we will do our very best to beat Swindon and then we will look at what has happened elsewhere.”
Swindon already hold a spot in the play-offs, but the O’s boss knows whatever Robins side takes to the pitch tomorrow will provide a tough challenge.
“We know what Swindon are like – a strong side that earned themselves a spot in play-offs ahead of the match,” he added.
“They play very good football and they fought for every ball against Colchester on Tuesday and I don’t expect that they’ll do anything different against us tomorrow.
“We had an intense week of training and we have prepared for this game with maximum attention to detail.”
