The Orient Line heritage walk will take place this Sunday, May 10.
Meeting at the Supporters Club at 9.30am, the walk takes you across into Hackney and Clapton to visit locations of historical interest relating to the early years of Clapton Orient Football Club, as well as the homes of former O’s stars Billy Jonas and Richard McFadden, Fred Parker and George Scott.
The route also takes you past the site of the iconic Millfields Road stadium, as well as the Lea Bridge ground which the O’s shared with the speedway team prior to moving to Brisbane Road.
Several former O’s headquarters are also visited – one of which is now a pub! Aside from the cost of your own refeshments there is no charge to take part in this very enjoyable and informative annual event.
