Orient have completed the signing of former West Ham United youngster Blair Turgott, with the 21-year-old signing a one-year deal with the O’s.
Turgott came through the youth ranks at West Ham, and went on to have loan spells with Bradford City, Colchester United, Rotherham United and Dagenham & Redbridge.
The England under-16,17,18 and 19 international ended his time with the Hammers in February, before linking up with Coventry City in a short-term deal until the end of the season.
And now the Bromley-born winger is reunited with O’s head coach Ian Hendon, who was his development coach with the Hammers, before Hendon stepped up to become first-team coach at Upton Park.
And on Turgott’s signing, Hendon told www.leytonorient.com: “Blair is predominantly a wide player who is very quick and very athletic. He is non stop in his work rate and he can deliver a great ball into the box.”
“He has gained experience out on loan over the years and he will be a good addition to the squad.”
Interviews with both Turgott and Hendon will be on the website shortly.
