Orient winger Dean Cox hopes believes the O’s trip to Spain will stand them in good stead for when the League Two season begins on August 8.
Along with some tough training sessions, Ian Hendon’s side played three matches in the searing heat, losing against Championship outfits Middlesbrough and Huddesrsfield Town, before ending the tour with a 5-0 win over Los Iberos CF.
Cox told leytonorient.com: “The whole trip was very good and we managed to get some games under our belt. A lot of people may have thought we had gone out there for a bit of fun, but that definitely wasn’t the case. There was some hard sessions in hot weather so it was very tough.
“We’ve worked really hard and it’s all about getting ready for August 8 when we take on Barnet.”
