Leyton Orient midfielder Jobi McAnuff starred for Jamaica as they became the first ever Caribbean side to reach the Gold Cup final following a 2-1 victory over host nation USA last night.

Playing in their first semi-finals since 1995, the Reggae Boyz raced into a 2-0 lead at half-time in front of a sold-out crowd at the Georgia Dome, Atlanta, thanks to goals from Darren Mattocks and Giles Barnes.

USA captain Michael Bradley pulled a goal back for the hosts early in the second half however Jamaica held on for a memorable victory to book their place in the final as McAnuff played the full 90 minutes.

Jamaica will now come up against Mexico, who overcame Panama 2-1 after extra time, in Sunday’s final which will be played at the PA Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
