NEWS: Shaw signs O's deal

Left back Frazer Shaw has signed a one-year deal with the Club after a successful trial spell.

Shaw linked up with Orient during the summer, and has featured on a regular basis under O’s Head Coach Ian Hendon during pre-season, including the trip to Spain.

And Hendon was delighted to offer the youngster a chance back in the Football League following his release from West Ham at the end of the 2013-14 season.

“I am pleased to have Frazer on board. He’s young, eager and very energetic,” Hendon told

“I feel he has benefitted from his spell in non-league. I think he has grown up and I had him at the U21 level at West Ham. He was very good at that level but for one reason or another he drifted away from the professional game for a year but he has come back, looks strong and he is going to be physically better off because he has been dealing with men every week rather than in U21 football.

“To me he looks like he has developed. Technically I know what he is about and he has got to get fitter, but to be fair to him he has worked hard over pre-season, but when you have been out of the full time game for a year it takes a bit of time to get back to how you was.”

Shaw had been at West Ham United since the age of 14, and worked under Hendon in the U21 side at Upton Park, before he was released at the end of 2013-14 campaign.

After his release, the youngster joined non-league side Dulwich Hamlet, and earned rave reviews during his time at Champion Hill.

Such was his success, Shaw earned a call-up to the England C squad.
