Leyton Orient FC has teamed up with NELFT Stop Smoking Service to encourage supporters to kick their smoking habit as part of Stoptober.
What is Stoptober?
Stoptober is a 28 day challenge to stop smoking during October, and it calls on smokers to quit for good. By signing up to Stoptober you will receive a variety of free and proven support including packs, apps and emails to help you quit for 28 days and beyond. Face to face advice and support is available from your local NELFT Stop Smoking Service, which will provide you with tailored advice and hints and tips on how to quit, increasing your chances of stopping smoking and staying stopped.
Why take part?
More and more people around the country and in Waltham Forest are joining in the challenge as Stoptober has been proven to be a highly effective way to help people stop smoking. Taking part in Stoptober or even giving yourself a target date to quit is a great way to have a goal and will help you stop smoking for good. It will be tough, but there is a lot of support locally to help you along the way, and you will see your quality of life improve.
The start of Stoptober this year coincides with the introduction of new legislation in England and Wales making it illegal to smoke in vehicles with someone under the age of 18 present. Both the driver and smoker can be fined if anyone smokes in the vehicle. The law is changing to protect children from the dangers of secondhand smoke. With one less place to smoke there is one more reason to sign up to Stoptober.
Join the thousands who are already taking a healthier step in the right direction. Staff from the local NELFT Stop Smoking Service will be on hand at The Matchroom Stadium on the 19th September 2015 to give free advice and support for anyone who wishes to stop smoking. Free Stoptober packs, CO readings and lung age tests will be available on the day. Alternatively you can call the NELFT Stop Smoking Service on 0800 032 0102.
