access_time 6 years ago

Leyton Orient will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Northampton Town this weekend.

On the back of their 1-1 draw with Wycombe the O’s are now three matches without a victory in the League, but remain at the top of the League Two summit by a single point.

Northampton come into the tie full of confidence following a resounding 4-2 victory at Morecambe last weekend and currently sit outside of the Play-Off places in 8th.

Lawson D’Ath and Sam Hoskins gave the Cobblers a 2-0 lead going into the break and Joel Byrom added a third three minutes after the restart as Chris Wilder’s side raced into a three-goal lead. Morecambe then pulled a goal back through Tom Barkhuizen before Dominic Calvert-Lewin bagged Northampton’s fourth. Byrom scored at the wrong end as the hosts pulled another back in the dying minutes.

Orient secured their first home victory of the 2014-15 season as they overcame Northampton to progress in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Jay Simpson gave the O’s a 28th minute lead and the win was then wrapped up one minute from time when midfielder Marvin Bartley slotted home from the edge of the penalty area.

Leyton Orient Head Coach Ian Hendon has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Sixfields. Midfielder Bradley Pritchard missed out last weekend with a groin injury and remains a doubt for the O’s.

Striker Ollie Palmer continues to push for his first League start of the season following an impressive performance after coming off the bench against Wycombe.

Northampton have striker Marc Richards available again this weekend. The striker missed the win at Morecambe but looks to have recovered from a side strain.

The Cobblers will be without Ricky Holmes  who remains on the treatment table while midfielder Paul Corry is out with a knee injury sustained in training earlier  this week.
