PREVIEW: Hendon on Luton Town test

Head Coach Ian Hendon is hoping that the O’s can carry on where they left off at the weekend when they travel to Luton Town tonight.
Orient came from 2-0 down at half time to pick up a point at home to Oxford United on Saturday, and while wary of tonight’s opposition, Hendon hopes the confidence gained from their second half showing can be replicated tonight at Kenilworth Road.
“We had the usual post-match debrief on Monday morning with the boys and we finished Saturday’s game strongly,” Hendon told
“That is where we have got to pick up from and carry on. We are looking forward to the game, but Luton at home are strong and I know we keep on saying this but they are all tough games.
“Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday does test the squad, as well, but we had it earlier on in the season and coped with it reasonably well so the boys are fit and raring to go again.”
Aside from Paul McCallum’s long-term injury, Hendon has a fully-fit squad to select from, with Alan Dunne available once again following his one-match ban for his sending off at Crawley Town.
Kenilworth Road is familiar to the O’s this season, having played and lost 2-1 against the Hatters in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in September, and the O’s Head Coach is hoping to come away with a better result this time round.
“Luton are another team with a big squad and a lot of players. They have got a few injuries at the moment, but I am sure they will have a big crowd there and they’re all difficult games,” he added.
“We are familiar with the surroundings having played there before this season. It will be a good pitch there and hopefully we can play some good football and get a positive result.
“There are no problems with the squad, everyone apart from Paul, who had his surgery on the knee yesterday, is available. Everyone is ok and ‘Dunney’ is back available to us following his suspension.”
