Leyton Orient U18s saw their fantastic run come to an end on Friday as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Barnet.
For the trip to the Bees, Orient made six changes to the side that claimed an impressive 4-0 victory at home to Southend United last weekend, but following a close start to the match fell behind.
Josh Koroma then bagged his seventh of the season to equalise for the O’s, though Barnet edged back in front before half time to go into the interval 2-1 up.
After the restart Orient were unable to find a way back however and Barnet then added a third to inflict the O’s first League defeat in two months.
Following the defeat Academy Director Andy Edwards praised his side’s recent run of form, saying: “We have been on an excellent eight match unbeaten run and played some fantastic football along the way.
“We knew this run had to come to an end but today we did not hit the standards of late, and full credit to Barnet who thoroughly deserved the victory.”
The U18s now look to bounce back on Monday night in the FA Youth Cup second round as they host Luton Town at the Matchroom Stadium (7pm kick-off).
