Leyton Orient suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Gillingham in the Final Third Development League.
A youthful O’s side included the return of goalkeeper Charlie Grainger having missed the last three games with appendicitis, while the likes of Freddy Moncur, Sandro Semedo and Scott Kashket all got minutes under their belts in the fixture alongside several of Andy Edwards’ U18 Orient side.
Orient fell behind in the first half, but levelled it at the break when Kashket coolly slotted home a penalty. However, they went on to concede a second, which proved to be the winner.
The O’s next game in the Development League is due to be held on January 2 when they make a trip to Luton Town.
