Orient drew 1-1 with Luton Town in this afternoon’s Development League fixture thanks to Scott Kashket’s late equaliser.
After a goalless first half the O’s found themselves behind when George Murray scored a rebound after a penalty was initially saved by goalkeeper Charlie Grainger, before Kashket popped up with the equaliser seven minutes from time
The game was a a good opportunity for some minutes for new loan signing Calaum Jahraldo-Martin along with fellow first-teamers Kashket, Jean-Yves M’voto, Connor Essam, Alan Dunne and Freddy Moncur.
Grainger was busy in the O’s goal early on as he tipped Luke Wilkinson’s shot onto the crossbar with just two minutes on the clock, while the closest O’s game to breaking the deadlock was when Montel Agyemang’s shot was blocked by Hatters goalkeeper Elliott Justham, only for Kashket to shoot the rebound wide of the target.
Murray went on to clip the woodwork once again for the hosts, but at half time the score was goalless.
After the break the Hatters broke the deadlock when handball was awarded against Sandro Semedo, and though Grainger saved the initial spot kick from Murray, he was able to convert the rebound.
That was how the score remained until seven minutes from time when Kashket raced clear of the home defence and slotted past Justham.
