Leyton Orient can confirm that first team coach Kevin Nugent has decided to leave the Club.
Having started his playing career with the O’s back in 1987, Nugent made over 150 appearances for Orient during two separate spells throughout a 19-year playing career which saw him score a total of 115 league goals.
After hanging up his boots, Nugent then returned to E10 in 2007 to take up the role of Youth Team Manager, and in January 2009 was named caretaker manager before becoming assistant to Geraint Williams a month later.
Following a year under Williams, Nugent took the role of caretaker manager for a second time prior to the appointment of Russell Slade as manager in April 2010, who he would go on to assist for over four years.
September 2014 then saw Nugent handed the role of interim manager, before returning to a coaching capacity under Mauro Milanese, Fabio Liverani and most recently Ian Hendon.
The Club would like to thank Kevin for his loyalty, commitment and passion throughout his nine years as part of the coaching staff and wish him every success for the future.
