O’s midfielder Jobi McAnuff was delighted with the response from the side as they picked up all three points at Portsmouth.
Orient had suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat last time out against Cambridge United, but bounced back in style thanks to McAnuff’s second goal of the season to complete the league double over Paul Cook’s side.
“We were really disappointed with the Cambridge performance and result, especially off the back of two good wins where it looked like we were going to build a bit of momentum,” McAnuff told Orient PlayerHD.
“It was important we went to Portsmouth and got a result first and foremost to get us back on track. To get the win is great, and we had a good couple of other chances as well.
“It was a fantastic performance from everybody and there were a few new lads in the mix as well and from that point of view it is pleasing that they have settled in quickly and hopefully it bodes well for the rest of the season.”
McAnuff’s cracker proved the difference and while he was delighted with the strike, his team-mates were keen to play it down
“I thought it was a good strike but the lads are giving me a bit of stick saying the wind took it,” he added.
“As soon as it bounced I made the decision to hit it and it is one of them that I knew it was going in as soon as I hit it.”
