Orient defender Nicky Hunt believes the O’s can send out a message to the rest of the league with victory over top-of-the-table Northampton Town tomorrow.
Kevin Nolan’s side picked up their third win from four games last weekend when Jobi McAnuff’s second half strike secured the O’s victory and move them back into the Play-Off places.
Hunt admits confidence is high in the Orient camp, and is keen to lay down a marker to show their true credentials.
“Confidence is a massive factor in football. You lose a few games and your heads go down and it is hard to get out of the rut, but when you are on a crest of a wave like we are now having won three out of four, it is easier to keep the tempo up in training and maintaining the standards when you are winning games,” Hunt told Orient PlayerHD. “Hopefully we can make it four out of five tomorrow.
“It will be a test of how far we have come. They are top of the league but we are more than capable of going out and making a statement to the whole of the league that we are up there on merit and we only want to climb higher.
“It’s a great test for us, but it is also a massive one for them to come to our home ground but hopefully we can come out on top.”
Hunt added: “It’s been another good, intense week on the training pitch. It is always intense when you are working for the Gaffer and that suits us down to the ground. We are all great professionals and want to come into training and work hard and go out on the pitch on a Saturday and do the best we can.”
