Leyton Orient U18’s kickstarted the second half of the season with a fantastic all round display at Luton, walking away with a 1-0 win.

The margin of victory could have been healthier, but Aron Pollock’s sliding finish was the only goal just past the half hour mark.

It was the fifth time this season that these teams had meet, and in each game it has been an extremely cagey affair early on as both teams cancelled each other out. It was scrappy at times for the first 20 minutes, with Sam Dalby being the only player to have a real shot at goal, only for it to be deflected wide.

Orient were gaining confidence and were gathering attacking momentum. Adeboyejo was played through on goal but took one too many touches, before a carbon copy ball through was played to Dalby, but his shot was blocked by a fantastic last-ditch tackle.

Orient were pressing and grabbed the lead thanks to a costly error by Luton keeper Liam Gooch. Coming out to claim a free kick whipped in from an angle, he got caught misjudging the distance and collided with his defender leaving Pollock, who reacted with lightning speed, to slide the ball into the open goal.

The young O’s were dominating the game from back to front, led by Charley Barker and Sam Alderson pulling the strings in the middle of the park, while another effort on goal came from Dan Happe as  tried his luck after the ball fell perfectly for him from a corner but it was blocked.

Josh Koroma nearly had the goal of the season, catching a half volley perfectly from 30 yards out but it the fierce effort went agonisingly wide.

The only good chance for Luton came moments before the half-time interval as the ball thundered against the bar.

The second half was nowhere near as attacking as the first but Orient still kept possession and frustrated the opposition. Adeboyejo had a great chance just a few minutes into the half but a fabulous save from Gooch denied the striker.

Adeboyejo then turned provider as in the last few minutes he chipped a glorious ball across but nobody could in an Orient shirt could force it home, and the O’s had done enough to  pick up all three points ahead of this weekend’s match at home to Gillingham.
