A number of Orient’s youngsters were in action for their loan clubs at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they got on.
Scott Kashket – (Welling United v Cheltenham Town)
The striker (pictured) made his loan debut for the Wings on Saturday, and enjoyed a promising start for the Wings as he played an instrumental part in their 1-1 draw with National League leaders Cheltenham Town.
Kashket remained on the pitch for 87 minutes before being replaced by Sahr Kabba, and Welling went in front in added on time through Luke Wanadio. However, the Robins struck even later as Dan Holman’s effort secured a share of the spoils.
The 20-year-old could feature for the Wings once more when they travel to Dover Athletic tomorrow night.
Montel Agyemang – (Farnborough v Grays Athletic)
The midfielder was replaced by player-manager Mark Bentley in the 55th minute of their 5-0 loss at Farnborough in the Ryman Premier.
The Blues had fallen behind with Charlie Allen’s first half strike before goalkeeper Lamar Johnson was sent off.
With no ‘keeper on the bench, Bentley went in between the sticks as Agyemang made way and the hosts went on to score another four goals – a Bogdan Vastsuk hat-trick and one for Dennis Oli.
Grays are next in action tomorrow night when they travel to Harrow Borough.
Freddy Moncur and Aron Pollock (Wingate & Finchley v Dulwich Hamlet)
Moncur and Pollock played for the Blues as they picked up a point in a 1-1 Ryman Premier draw at home to Dulwich Hamlet.
Pollock was making his debut for Wingate, while it was Moncur’s second appearance following his goalscoring debut in the Ryman League Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Kingstonian last Monday.
Leon Fisher put the hosts in front from the epanlty spot after 54 minutes, before Moncur was replaced by Ola Sogbanmu two minutes later.
Pollock remained on the pitch for the entire game, but was unable to prevent Dulwich from equalising through Dean McDonald.
Wingate & Finchley are next in action on Saturday when they host Tonbridge Angels.
