O’s player-manager Kevin Nolan admits now is the time for his side to ‘stand up and be counted for’ as they enter the final six games of the regular League Two season with a trip to Barnet tomorrow.
Orient head into the fixture with one point from their last three games, and while disappointed with that run of results Nolan is calling on his side to seize the opportunity and pile the pressure on other sides in and around the Play-Off places.
“If you look back at the last three games there is nothing really in them, and we could have got another four or five points out of that which is disappointing from our point of view, but we can’t look back at that now,” Nolan told Orient PlayerHD.
“We still have an opportunity and we have got to put the pressure on them and hopefully we will do that in the remaining fixtures.
“They are all tough games and I have said that to the lads. Any team towards the bottom will be wanting to win and those that are in and around us are not going to make life easy for us. We have got to be up for that fight.”
Orient come up against a Barnet side which boasts one of the best home records in the division, and that presents the O’s and Nolan with a tough test of their Play-Off credentials.
“Barnet have one of the best home records in the division so it will be another tough game,” he added.
“We have got to go there and stand up and be counted. We have got a great record since I came in away from home and hopefully we can keep that run going and get back to winning ways – that’s the main thing. It will be tough but that’s how we like it.”
During the week, the O’s used Colebrook Royals Grange Farm facility in Chigwell, and the player-manager was delighted to have the use of such a facility.
“We had the facility lent to us during the week and it is a great facility to have,” he remarked. “My little boy plays his football so a big thank you goes to John Eagleton and all the staff at Grange Farm and without it we wouldn’t have been able to get the vital minutes out on the training pitch.”
