Leyton Orient are pleased to confirm the signing of central defender Tom Parkes.
The 24-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the O’s, which will commence on July 1 when his contract with Bristol Rovers ends.
Parkes made 190 appearances for the Gas over four years, and initially joined the Memorial Stadium outfit on loan from Leicester City, before making the permanent switch in the summer of 2012.
The defender started his career with the Foxes, and also picked up experience on loan at Burton Albion on three separate occasions before linking up with Rovers.
With the Gas, Parkes suffered relegation to the Conference in 2014, but played an integral part as they earned promotion back to Football League at the first time of asking, which even saw the defender receive international recognition with the England C team.
He then made it back-to-back promotions as Darrell Clarke’s side finished in third place in League Two last term, with Parkes making 36 appearances over the course of the campaign.
The defender becomes the fifth player to join the O’s so far this summer, following on from the signings of Robbie Weir, Josh Doherty, Gavin Massey and Callum Kennedy.
Parkes’ first interview on Orient PlayerHD will be available tomorrow morning.
